Meet Dr. Kevin Sweeney, MD, DDS
Northwest Oral & Implant Surgery – Eugene OR
Down-to-earth and dedicated to patient care, Dr. Kevin Sweeney grew up in the Northwest appreciating the great outdoors. Even as a child, he loved to create things with his hands, an aptitude that led him naturally into a career as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Born in Tacoma and raised in the Seattle area, Dr. Sweeney went on to study biochemistry at the University of San Diego and obtained his dental degree at the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
He was then accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency/MD program at the University of Pennsylvania. This six-year program included an accelerated MD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, a two-year certificate of general surgery training, including rotations on plastic surgery and pediatric plastic surgery, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and an advanced specialty certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
While he enjoyed all that Philadelphia had to offer, he couldn’t wait to return to the Pacific Northwest.
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with professional degrees in both medicine and dentistry, Dr. Sweeney is skilled at dental implants and bone grafting, all-on-four restorations, 3-D and digital treatment planning, oral and maxillofacial pathology, removal of wisdom teeth and comfortable sedation.
More than anything, Dr. Sweeney is focused on genuine, personal connections and providing his patients timely, safe, effective and comfortable care.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Sweeney enjoys many outdoor activities, whether on land or in water. An avid food enthusiast, he’s always seeking suggestions on good places to eat.
